U.N. Study Tour Award Winners for 1956
Caption Description
The seven winners for 1956 of the United Nations Study Tour, offered this year for the first time, are at present in New York. The Study Tour, which is sponsored by the Department of Public Information, provides for a 30-day visit at U.N. Headquarters, with all facilities to study the work of the Secretariat and the General Assembly and any other U.N. organ which might be in session.
Messrs. Ahmed S. Bokari (center), U.N. Under-Secretary for Public Information; G.J. Janecek (left), Director of the Public Liaison and Distribution Division of the U.N.; and William J. Bruce (right), Chief of the U.N. Education Section, are seen here with four of this year's U.N. Study Tour Award winners - from left to right: Messrs. Paolo K. Killiner of Helsinski, Finland; Terence Lawson of London, England; W.J. Hobbin of Sydney, Australia; and Oo Thein of Rangoon, Burma.
