Caption Description The flags of Bhutan, Bahrain and Qatar were raised in a ceremony held at UN Headquarters this morning. Yesterday afternoon, the three States were admitted to the UN as, respectively, its 128th; 129th and 130th members. Secretary-General, U Thant made a statement before the raising of the flags. The Secretary-General, and the President of the General Assembly, stood before the flag staffs with the following representatives of the new Member States: Prince Namgyal Wangchuk, Minister of Trade, Commerce and Industry of Bhutan; Dawa Tsering, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bhutan; Sangay Penjore, Permanent Representative of Bhutan; Mohamed Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Salman M. Al-Saffar, Permanent Representative of Bahrain; and Hassan Kamel, Permanent Representative of Qatar and Minister of State and Advisor to the Government.
