Prior to this appointment, Mr. Dost served as his country's Minister for Foreign Affairs since 1979. From 1978 to 1979, he was Deputy Minister for Political Affairs. He began his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1956. He has served as Assistant Chief of the Protocol Department and Chief of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister's Office. Mr. Dost is a member of the Revolutionary Council. Born in 1929, Mr. Dost is a graduate of law and political science. He has three sons and a daughter.
