Air Traffic Control Course Graduation Ceremony in Trinidad
Caption Description
The graduation exercise and award of certificates for the eleventh United Nations-assisted air traffic control course took place at the Civil Aviation Training School in Port of Spain today. Eighteen participants from nine Caribbean countries and territories, Anguilla (3), Antigua (1), Barbados (5), Guyana (2), Montserrat (1), St. Kitts (1), St. Lucia (2), Trinidad and Tobago (2), Turks and Caicos (1), graduated.
The air traffic school in Port of Spain is a Government undertaking which is assisted by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with financing and with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as executing agency. During the nine-month course, the participants covered a wide range of aviation subjects including air traffic services, air traffic control, theoretical and practical navigation, communications, radio and radio aids, meteorology, aerodromes, aircraft operations, theory of flight and aeronautical information services.
