Caption Description Demonstrators gathered around the Ralph Bunche Memorial, across from United Nations Headquarters, as they took part in an anti-nuclear weapons peace march. The demonstrators were paying tribute to the UN before proceeding to a massive Peace Rally being held in Central Park to coincide with the UN General Assembly's Second Special session on Disarmament. An estimated three-quarters of a million people gathered in support of world nuclear disarmament, making it the largest demonstration of its kind ever to take place in the United States.
