Security Council Considers Iran-Iraq Situation
Caption Description
The Security Council met on 25 April 1985 to consider the situation between Iran and Iraq. The President of the Council, Javier Arias Stella (Peru), said that the Council was ""appalled that chemical weapons have been used against Iranian soldiers during the month of March 1985 in the war between the two countries"". The Council had before it a report of the Secretay-General on his recent visit to Iran and Iraq, and a report of Dr. Manuel Dominguez, a specialist sent by the Secretay-General to examine Iranian patients hospitalized in Europe.
