Patricia Koo Tsien, Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Group on Equality for Women, and Armando Duque, Chairman of the Staff Council, today presented a petition to Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim requesting an affirmative programme of action to end discrimination against women in the Secretariats of the United Nations and the Agencies. It had been signed by over 2,700 staff member.
