An international conference to renegotiate the International Tin Agreement of 1965, which is due to expire on 30 June 1971, opened at the Palais des Expositions, Geneva today. The Conference has been convened by the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, Manuel Pérez-Guerrero, on behalf of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and at the request of the International Tin Council. Provision has been made for the meeting to last until 15 May, if necessary.
