The Republic of Korea signs the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. The Convention was adopted by the General Assembly on 21 December 1965 and came into force on 4 January 1969. Under the Convention, parties condemn racial discrimination and undertake to pursue a policy of eliminating it without delay, promoting understanding among races. The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination oversees its implementation.
