UN Korean Reconstruction Agency Concludes Work
Caption Description
After completing a $150,000,000 programme of economic and social aid financed mainly by voluntary contributions from 40 governments, the UN Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) ceased to exist today. The Agency's five-nation Advisory Committee held a final meeting this afternoon and heard a closing statement by the UNKRA Administrator, Brig. Gen. Harold E. Eastwood (U.S. Army, Retired). This photograph shows the final meeting of the Advisory Committee, with General Eastwood seated at the end of the table, at right.
