Korean Leprosarium
Caption Description
Near Pusan, there is a leprosarium. There, some 1400 lepers -men, women, children - are sheltered; they are under the care of Korean physicians and of a Korean staff. The United Nations Civil Assistance Command does its best to help them, and whenever possible supply them drugs and medicines. Periodically WHO (World Health Organization) Dr. Henry Meyer (of Denmark) goes there for a visit; he is seen here with an administrator of the leprosarium, discussing the problems and needs of the infirmary which was without medicine or medical advice.
