Restoration of the Korean School Libraries
Caption Description
Books for the shelves of the libraries of the Korean colleges and universities, stripped bare during the war, were provided by the UN Korean Reconstruction Agency (UNKRA) as part of its widespread program in the aid of education. The books, largely in English, French and German, cover such fields as agriculture, biology, mathematics, engineering, education, literature and liberal arts, chemistry and physics, medicine, dentistry and pharmacy. UNKRA allocated $200,000 for this project, which is now essentially completed.
