UNKRA's Help to Korea
Caption Description
The UN Korean Reconstruction Agency spent $330,000 on equipping Korea's denuded National Veterinary Laboratories. These are now operating so successfully that they are producing enough vaccine to meet all Korea's needs in her fight against animal and poultry diseases. In this laboratory which is located at Anyang, near Seoul, veterinarians are producing 26,000 ten-dose vials of Korvae Hog Cholera vaccine and 12,000 vials of hundred-dose Newcastle Disease vaccine per month, using equipment provided by UNKRA. The vaccine in its final form is dried to a powder which makes it easy to handle and store.
This picture shows two Korean veterinarians injecting a rooster with vaccine prepared at the Anyang Laboratory. [No exact date]
