Caption Description Landscape gardeners are getting the Japanese Peace Bell Garden ready for the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Ichiro Abe Shin (not pictured) designed the Japanese garden at UN Headquarters in 1999. Since then he comes to maintain and trim the garden every year before the annual Peace Bell Ceremony on the International Day of Peace. This year, his colleagues came from Japan to help with the work.
