Caption Description James Morris, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), said about 60 per cent of the organization's work took place in Africa, as southern Africa, the Horn of Africa, Western Africa and the Sahel were experiencing severe problems. There were around 40 million people at risk of starvation on the continent. The Programme's budget for Africa was about 1.4 billion, of which $700 million had been raised.
