Headline Memorial to Ralph Bunche 
Caption Description "Peace From One", a sculpture by the American Daniel La Rue Johnson, was dedicated this morning to the memory of Ralph Bunche who died in 1971. The ceremony which took place at the United Nations General Assembly Hall honored the former Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs who, as UN Mediator for Palestine in the 1949 Middle East peace settlement, became the first black man to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. The sculpture stands opposite the UN Secretariat building in a small park recently renamed for Dr. Bunche.
