Caption Description At a time of increasing divisions between peoples and cultures, the Committee on Information was urged today by Under-Secretary-General for Communication and Public Information Shashi Tharoor to send a strong message to the General Assembly and the world that the United Nations mattered and its voice must be heard. The Committee, which makes recommendations to the General Assembly on the policy and activities of the United Nations Department of Public Information (DPI), is scheduled to meet through 9 May.
