Caption Description
The Security Council met early this afternoon to take up a request by Ireland that a United Nations peace-keeping force be sent to the Six Counties of Northern Ireland, but adjourned without adopting the agenda, after hearing statements by Ireland’s Minister for External Affairs and by the representatives of the United Kingdom, Finland, the Soviet Union and Zambia.
Max Jakobson (left) of Finland is seen shortly after addressing the Council. Seated next to him are Armand Berard (centre), of France, and Jozsef Tardos (Hungary).
