The General Assembly received a draft resolution asking the Assembly to call again for the early convening of the Geneva Peace Conference on the Middle East under the auspices of the UN and "with the participation on an equal footing of all parties concerned, including the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)".

Francesca Albanese, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, briefs reporters at UN Headquarters.
Gilad Erdan, Permanent Representative of Israel to the United Nations, shreds a page of the Charter of the United Nations as he addresses the resumed 10th Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly on “Illegal Israeli actions in occupied East Jerusalem and the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory”.

The General Assembly later adopted a resolution that "Determines that the State of Palestine is qualified for membership in the United Nations in accordance with Article 4 of the Charter of the United Nations and should therefore be admitted to membership in the United Nations". The Resolution was adopted by a recorded vote with 143 votes in favour, 9 against and 25 abstentions.

Headline Arab Refugee Girls Study Nursing in England
Caption Description Eighteen Palestine refugee girls are taking a three-year training course leading to nursing certificates from the British Ministry of Health. Four of them are studying at the Bolingbroke Hospital in London. The young women were selected by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which pays for their passages and provides for their incidental expenses.
A comfortable Common Room is provided for the nurses where they can relax and read, knit or chat during their off-duty periods. Here the Palestinian nurses chat with their British colleagues.
