Caption Description The United Nations awarded to the firms of Fuller, Turner, Walsh and Slattery, Inc. the contract for the construction of the 39-story Secretariat building the first of three main units to be built on the site of the permanent U.N. Headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, New York. The contract, amounting to $23,809,573. is the largest financial obligation that the U.N. has ever undertaken.
